Upon reading this message, Arthur and Milton exchanged a glance—this time filled with excitement. Her choice meant that Arthur could finally boast about his remarkable daughter, and Milton could proudly parade around with the claim of his sister’s existence.
Elliana’s sudden decision to stop hiding her identity as a Campbell was quickly grasped by Arthur and Milton. Arthur typed with excitement, “That’s wonderful, Elliana! I will host a grand welcome banquet to let everyone know you are my daughter.”
Milton wrote firmly, “I’ll make it clear to everyone that I have only one sister, and her name is Elliana.”
Elliana’s heart warmed at their support and love. Smiling, she continued typing on her phone, “Dad, there’s no rush for the banquet. Let’s wait until Mom comes home so we can celebrate together. And Milton, your idea is great, but for now, let’s not mention the name Elliana. I’m going by Lilah now.”
The name Elliana Marsh had once been tied too closely to Cole. Even though Wanda and Eva had erased all traces of it online, that name alone could stir gossip again. She wasn’t ready to be reduced in the spotlight because of that just yet. Besides, Cole’s health hadn’t fully recovered, and it wouldn’t be wise to let the name Elliana affect him.
Milton understood right away and nodded. “Alright, I’ll do as you say.”
Elliana’s eyes grew colder as she wrote, “Since I’m reclaiming my place, Wanda no longer belongs in our family. And Eva shouldn’t take my mother’s place either.”
Arthur slammed his fist lightly on the armrest. “Exactly! I’ve wanted to be rid of those two pests for centuries.”
Milton probed, “Elliana, what about Cole? What’s his stance on this?”
Elliana answered calmly, “He has already explained to me that his proposal to Wanda was based on a complete misunderstanding. As for Eva, he doesn’t care much for her. He has severed any connection with the two of them and promised he’ll stand by me no matter what.”
She paused and then added, “Ruben said the same. When he cast Eva out of the Evans family years ago, he ended the father-daughter bond with her. Her fate doesn’t matter to him.”
Arthur and Milton both felt a wave of relief at her words.
Ruben had been decisive back then. When Eva insisted on her own path, he’d cut her off without hesitation. Even now, Ruben remained clear-headed, firmly standing with Elliana and refusing to shield Eva.
This eased much of the resentment Arthur and Milton held against the Evans family. Still, Ruben’s stance wasn’t what mattered most. What truly concerned them was Cole’s position. He was the man who wanted to marry Elliana. If he couldn’t take a clear stand, they would never agree to the marriage. But now, their worries faded. Their view of Cole shifted.
Elliana sent them a quick message. “Dad, Milton, right now, Cole and I are on our way to Harmony Estate. I’ll be introducing him, my boyfriend, to you today. See you soon.”
